Shortlist Revealed Ahead Of October Awards

As the Global Generics & Biosimilars Awards 2023 draws closer, the final shortlist of entrants for this year’s ceremony has now been revealed, with some of the industry’s biggest names competing across all 14 of our categories to be recognized for their achievements.

Our panel of judges has now completed evaluating all entries received this year – a record year for the awards, in which more than 100 entries were received in total, from almost 50 companies (see sidebar) – and these scores have been used to compile the final shortlist ahead of our prizegiving ceremony on Wednesday 25 October.

The ceremony, which is free to attend, will take place at the Hotel Porta Fira in Barcelona and will recognize nominees for activities that took place between 1 August 2022 and 31 August 2023. (Also see "GGB Awards Returns To Barcelona In Its 10th Year" - Generics Bulletin, 23 Feb, 2023.)

In 2023 – the tenth year of the GGB Awards – the event is once again backed by our headline sponsor, IQVIA – along with category sponsors Adalvo, Aurobindo, Pharmacloud, Pharmawise and West Pharmaceutical Services – and us also supported by International Health Partners, the International Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association, and the US Association for Accessible Medicines and its Biosimilars Council. Across our categories, the Global Generics & Biosimilars Awards covers an array of industry activities. This year, we have introduced a new category recognizing promotional campaigns in addition to our 13 other regular categories.

Alongside the global and regional Company of the Year awards – recognizing the world leader as well as top companies in the EMEA, Americas and Asia-Pacific regions – our categories also include Business Development of the Year, Acquisition of the Year and Industry Partner of the Year, while other specific categories also cover Biosimilars and Value Added Medicines.

Outstanding achievements in company leadership and corporate social responsibility are also honored during the ceremony.
